Scars

There are many scars I carry
that show my marking from fighting from day to day
from bumps and scrapes and bruises
to the ones hand made

Few ask about my past struggles about the ones
that are shown freely
but the ones that mar my pallid skin
are the ones that are all self inflicted
and they carry stories run deepest
they plague my side and wrists

I cover their stories with small white lies
they tell a tale of loss and pain
and blood that flowed freely down a drain
to me they seem to be battle wounds
of a continual war I am to lose

I go dark and numb when they start
it symbols the wounds that mark my heart
the blood shines crimson red
to darker shades that match my dread
but for a while there has been and thing that
has stilled my hand
a boy as ordinary as day
he has shown me the light and how to stay

I pray to God our love shall forever stay
our bond is deeper then blood and my internal scars
it flows through every vain and pumps in my heart
he showed me my wounds can heal
and with my pain there is better ways to deal
he is my heart, warmth, love, and the one who showed
me how to heal and feel

I love him.
