Say It To Me

This light has never wanted you more,

But you won’t come and sit with me,

You play with pill capsules

Under your tongue,

Teasing flat tastebuds,

Dead ideas and dreams,

X

Everyone else here tonight is neon,

With fake nails on their poetaster speech,

Come, spit your gel caps,

Hate the songs,

Stare at me wrong,

Show me the contempt that’s stuck

Between your fixable crooked teeth,

X

Say vapour

Say graveyards

Say scented,

Say it slurred,

Say it with spit,

Make it mean,

X

Say something simple,

Speak with clenched jaw,

Cry with your eyes,

Say absolutely nothing,

I’m listening,

Just say it to me.
