Romans 8: 6-7 6 For the outlook of the flesh is death,but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the outlook of the flesh is hostile to God,for it does not submit to the law of God, nor is it able to do so. In satisfaction drenched

 

Wherever the flesh serves God,

The power of sin is strengthened

There and here every time

The Holy Spirit is quenched

The victory in Christ

That is experienced over sin

Loses all its power

If not glorified within.

 

When celebrated the victory

By works and determination

Success will be there for a while

But then we’re back again

To sin in a different form

But really not in essence

Just by leaning on the flesh

And here we go again

 

The flesh is Satan’s workshop

And so it will always be

Until the day we do depart

And are fully set free

Now if not given opportunity

For the flesh now to sin

It will do “good” for a while

Waiting for its chance again
