Often I hear people say, “Don’t be salty”

Do they think it’s faulty?

I mean what’s wrong with being it?

Honestly, I think it’s not a big deal

And this is how I feel

 

Ya’ll can be tasteless with no savor

But what is my use without my flavor?

How am I to be used effectively?

If I don’t serve myself selectively

They throw me out into the dirt because I’m plain

 

Being like everyone else I lose what I need most

Without that bite, without that zest I’d be bland

Then what would make me different from a grain of sand?

In a multitude, in a sea of others

What makes me any different?

 

Noo I would rather be full of flavor

Cuz what’s the point of salt with no savor

Being “salty” gets a bad rep

But as for me I’m relaxed with pep
