To Run or Not to Run

Location

To run or not to run--that is the question:

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer

The slings and arrows of outrageous exhaustion,

Or to take arms against the aches of muscles

And, by walking, end them. To sweat, to sprint--

No more--and by walking we end

Thus, by walking, thou pass us--

Something is rotten in the state of the course

Focus is the soul of running,

'Tis thou drive, and thou endurance

To which thy legs bend and move

To th' shape o'er hill and valleys--

Thine breathe doth protest too much

Running is neither difficult nor impossible,

But thinking makes it so--

Ay, there's the rub,

O, woe is me, to have run what I run,

And to sprint what I sprint--

As in thou sport,

Thou must be cruel in order to be kind--

Thou must push thou teammates,

When thy rivals come, they come not in singles,

But in battalions--

In my mind's eye,

They team 'tis the best

Neither a runner, nor a coach be,

But the team 'tis thou the best--

Th' team hath thou believes

This be the very ecstasy of love--

Though this be madness,

Yet there is method in't.
