The Road Before

Sun, 04/14/2013 - 13:21 -- SammyB

Look ahead, the road before.
Take your first breath, breathe in the air;
And just imagine what is in store.

Take life with no rancor,
For you must go somewhere;
Look ahead, the road before.

There is no cause for uproar.
Hope: you must bear;
And just imagine what is in store.

Unending promise, like the seashore,
Layer after layer, wave after wave, showing no despair.
Look ahead, the road before.

Do not be afraid, I implore.
What is ahead will come, with time to prepare.
And just imagine what is in store.

There will be darkness to outscore.
Yet you will conquer, that I swear.
Look ahead, the road before,
And just imagine what is in store.
