The River
I saw the river and but the river never saw me
Load and roaring, it covered the bridge
The bridge that could have been their savior
Was now splashed with a few drops of water
I saw the river and it got a glimpse of me
It washed over my feet as I ran
I tried to grab help for the others
But the car was too far gone
I saw the river, it was calm and carefree
The storm was over, no flood in sight
I looked at my savior and knew that those trapped under
Had said their final goodnight
