Rising up

Rising from the ashes.

Her world restored.

You left in the shadows,

from a heart so it can’t break.

No!

She is free of you.

Everything you’ve done,

what she’s let you do.

To her,

to the ones she holds close.

I..I didn’t know…

Her judgement you clouded!

Your influence in her life,

if anyone’s to blame it’s her.

She let you stay.

Let you in.

Shared her love like a fool.

But she can’t get rid of it!

Don’t you see?

I wish I could.

Your face comes back,

she cracks

faces it.

Stop!

You won the battle.

But your war has only begun.

Take her open arms,

her open heart,

a vulnerable girl,

And a source of pain.

The scene is set,

pick your weapon.

Let the war to end all commence!

How sickly sweet this’ll be!

Please… stop...

She can hear your heart race,

see the sweat on your bony face!

The fire consumes you,

are you afraid?

You knew it was wrong.

Yes...

Now it’s time to pay.

Take your medicine,

force down the pills,

like you forced them on her!

Feel the rebellion inside.

Try to fight the hate rising up.

You know you're burning inside,

so just hide those tears like she had to.

Choke back the sobs when you sleep!

Do you see why this is happening?

Do you see what you did?!

It still isn’t over!

Feel these stabs you inflicted,

the burning fire of pain all over.

Take the emotional toll,

feel the blaze,

stand tall.

Smile despite it all.

Doubt your wholeness!

I can’t...

You can’t help it.

You have to live through it.

...Try for a moment…

Take your eyes off the fake picture

See beyond the fairytale veil.

Know how she feels through all this.

Feel her tears,

like your crying them.

I am.

Hear her lie

in every hateful word she speaks.

She never wanted this war,

look how she shakes,

that weak little dagger in her hand.

she never wanted to feel this empty,

lonely, pocket in her chest.

So dried up...

Even her wounds won’t bleed.

Look into her eyes!

I am!

Look past the tears and see that frustration!

I see it!

She wants you to stop.

Lay down your sword.

Stop stabbing her.

But she hurt me...!

After all these years,

do you still care?

Hold her in your arms.

Take everything back.

Douse the flames.

Just whisper 3 simple words.

...I...Love...You…

I love you.

I always have.

Come back to me.

Let me…

be a father to you…
