Right Truth

It’s hard to walk these halls,

Hoping nobody notices at all,

My broad shoulders and Big hips,

The internet even provides me with tips,

Lose the weight, Get thinner now,

But I know I won’t fall in somehow,

Their twisted lies won’t catch me,

For my thick bones make my weight.

What do they see,

Do they truly know,

That I’m not lazy, I try, I know,

I go on runs, I up my strength,

What will it take for their minds to change?

You see them everywhere,

It’s hard not to get jealous,

The covers, the photoshoots,

The wealthy women and men,

All sculpted size zeroes,

No pain, cause they’re “thin.”

Then you look at yourself,

And feel all this doubt,

It’s hard to be strong,

When you feel so cast out.

On the inside of me,

Is someone who cares,

Who knows how people feel,

With these supposed zeroes out there.

So don’t let it get you down,

Shine bright as you can,

For weight doesn’t matter,

But confidence can.
