Revolution

Thu, 05/25/2017 - 18:56 -- Onyxkat

Darkness coils across the horizon,

Its fingers clawing at the light.

The sun trembles and fades.

Grayness wins the sky and

Starts its invasion

On our spirits.

Wind whines at the buildings,

Pulling at trees to obey its call.

Branches snap.

Cold begins to settle in.

Collars turn up

And shoulders hunch.

The sky begins her lament,

Tears falling fierce and swift.

Droplets soak and drown.

Scraping at the earth

And soiling the

World’s colorful vibrancy.

Gloom has set upon us,

Building a throne in the heavens.

It reigns.

Gazing over its kingdom,

Its subjects cowering

Underneath fabric shields.

But revolution has already begun.

The sun recovers her strength;

She rebels and fights.

Her brilliance vanquishes the murk,

Showering down color

In resplendent beams.
