Song lyrics written in red lipstick on the bathroom mirror.
Waiting for a real man to step up and be her hero,
Is a beautiful girl—beaten down by her fears.
She closes her eyes wishing they would all disappear.
With each blink the mascara drips.
In life, she's losing her grip.
Feet planted firmly, she prays she won't slip.
But in the company of most, she stumbles and trips.

Unable to look at the reflection, you can’t face it.
The loneliness of the world, you want to escape it.
Remorse that you feel, you try to erase it.
But the source of your pain—you can't seem to trace it.
Every chance that you’ve had, you’ve gone on and wasted.
You have a next-level mind, but your instincts are basic.
It's tasteless.
Trying actions are graceless and faceless.
I pray you progress.
Even though you can't tell, I know your essence is blessed.

That’s just the life of a young woman who’s gorgeous.
Compliments she receives make her feel flawless.
Perfection is a condition that’s impossible to maintain.
You make the effort anyway, although it’s a strain.
It’s a shame, no one recognizes the work that you do.
The difficulty to make a name, it hurts you right through.
Still you give the people what they want.
The seductions of popularity—you exhibit and flaunt.
Envy and jealousy makes other girls taunt.
Harsh words they extend have you distraught.

Then you find a guy who you think could be the one.
If he’s not, at least he seems fun.
But everyone who loved you now starts to hate you.
Guys wonder why you love him, girls wonder why he dates you.
When you refuse to undress, he says you’re over-dramatic.
You surrender to sex, and he leaves you with post-traumatic,
Stress, when he breaks your heart and crushes your mind in an instant.
After that, future guys wonder why you’re distant.
It’s because the thought of your ex makes you cringe.
The memories vex, you’re on the fringe.
Your actions are perplexing, you drink in binge
All of this time that you’re investing, your mind’s still tinged.
When you see a picture of yourself, it looks like a stranger.
A person who’s traded sanity and health, for a life of angst and anger.

Your heart’s torn astray because you never asked for this.
You were born this way—you’re beautiful by accident.
Society has you pressed to impress
Through the way that you dress.
Now you’re feeling stressed.
Your true self you neglect.
Real emotions get suppressed—
You’re depressed.
You do exactly what they expect,
Though it’s not to earn respect.

As you try to protect your reputation, you feel guilt off of the image.
Not one that you have built, but the image that’s been given.
You make the decisions,
But this is not what you envisioned.
Back when innocence was pure, re-claim your inner child.
You open up your eyes to see a playful smile,
It’s been a while.
The smile is slightly broken, you’re living in denial.
A glimpse of self shines its way through, you think you’ve got it.
Then other people’s opinions sway you, mindset robotic.
Multiple personalities you possess—it’s psychotic.
You always try to conceal freckles god’s paint brush dotted.
I plead that you overcome all of these insecurities.
There is no need to cover up the purest of impurities.

In your life love’s ruined because of a few bad break-ups.
Every morning you wake up,
And put on all of your make-up.
But girl you need to take a
Moment to just realize.
From me, there is no reason to hide.
What I see, that is the truest eyes
Beneath, undoubtedly, wipe off the disguise—
Revitalize.

This is all I can ask.
Please do not mask.
What is naturally beautiful, relax for a minute.
Take it back for a minute.
You have a few blemishes, I love you anyway.
You think beauty diminishes, I’ll love you every day.
You’re loved, don’t ever feel lonely.
Out there somewhere waits your one and only.

The people around you make you feel inferior.
You always look in the mirror to check the exterior.
Have some confidence, show a little pride.
A real man will love you for what’s inside.
Respect your body, free your soul.
No one else is in control.
When you're sitting alone you,
Should know they don't own you.
All of the demons that haunt you—
You're afraid to ask for help.
Baby live how you want to.
Express yourself.

A calming stream as the faucet runs—cleansing, invigoration.
The illusion you once wore comes undone, unending liberation.
Revitalization.
