Repeat

She’s read history books about this moment

learned it happened years ago but it had ended

yet it’s the same situation, same troubles, just a new opponent

She saw hope for them, then it all changed

One step forward now two steps back

A president who demonstrated hope now exchanged

She can’t stand the calls of “give him a chance”

She’s heard the slurs, the bashing, all over minor differences

Now more than ever she knows she must take a stance

America, the home of the brave

Brave enough to shout hateful comments

What’s different now than how we were treated as slaves?

It is time, more than ever, to come together

We need to stop fighting each other

Because America is at the end of its' tether

This poem is about:
My country
Our world
