Remorse

You weep remorsefully

asking for forgiveness

You could cry an ocean

into my endless desert

You wish for understanding

and you can wish forever

For I'm no fairy godmother

or lovelorn Cinderella

You want to start again

as if nothing happened

I am not a clock to be rewound

I strike midnight,implacable
