Remember Who You Were

Location

Can you remember who you were

Before the world told you who you should be?

Don’t your eyes hurt you from the lies?

You are told that you are weird

That you need to change…

To change to be a part of their cliques

It’s yours to choose to break on

Through the will of the future today

Think out loud

And listen to only what the young mind will say

All the words come flashing by you

Watch the letters fly

And the sequence will send an ember burning high.

Don’t follow in the blindness of others,

Walk your streets of kindness.

 Young men have lost the language of truth;

They think only of frozen pathways

Banked by society’s lies.

Go where there is no path

And leave a trail.
