Relentless

Sing my sorry mind to sleep

Pouring promises you'll keep

Wish away the nightmares too

Or tonight they'll come for you.

Even if you keep me near

Your presence will not chase the fear

From covering my wishing star

In sticky streaks of oozing tar

Although kind words will tend to find

A safe spot in my wicked minds

Your words will never save me from

The tragedies I'm dreaming of

Panic tries to drown me in

Empty bottles full of sin

Until I accept my forever sleep

Another soul for the demons to keep.
