Relentless

A house divided could not stand,

A heart broken by things unplanned,

An empty bottle, knife in hand,

A drowning soul upon dry land,

Every thought she has says quit,

to give up, she's had enough of it,

Too many scars she won't soon forget,

Too many mouths full of empty threats,

Here she is, alone and afraid,

Abused, misguided, so close to the blade,

So much potential, so little aid,

Desperate and weak, at last she prayed,

Now here she stands, strong and proud,

She raises her eyes toward the clouds

and with all her strength to God she avows,

that never again shall she be so cowed.

Relentless she will stand.
