Relations and Functions

A relation describes a relationship and pairs input values to output values,

But don't devalue this math yet, we've much to talk about

If a relation is written in ordered pairs, all you do nest is place them in brackets and name the relation

Another way to write relations and Functions would be on an x/y column table, to write this table, put the x values in one column, and the y values in the second column

In mapping, the x values are connected to the corresponding y values, using arrows

The domain of a relation is the input values or the x values

The range of the relation is the output values, the y values

To write the domain, list the x values in increasing order, so put them in order from smallest to biggest.

Do the same with the Range, but for the y values

Some relations have a special relationship in that input value is paired with only one output number, If this ever happens, it will be called a function
