Rejection

Location

The stares and glares continue on,

With discrimination raging on,

I cannot be myself.

Walking through the streets,

Walking through the stores,

People drag their children away at the sight of me.

What have I done to deserve this treatment?

Why cannot I be free of the judgments?

These questions remain unaddressed.

My mind is filled with thoughts,

And in my silence I scream.

Why can you not let me be?

The world is filled with individuality,

The world is filled with originality.

Why cannot anyone allow to me to display my personality?

I am not sorry that I am not the poster model you see on television.

I am not sorry that I am a minority.

I am sorry that you will not be able to see what a great friend I can be if you got to know me.
