Reflection

While a mirror reflects the way we look,

No one ever sees themself.

As others can see us,

You can also see them too.

People think themselves to be

Deserving of friends, being wealthy;

Regardless of reality

For they can never truly see

The way it looks to you and me

Imagine who you would find,

If  You met you

Would you mind?

You get to see it clear as day,

All your features, but it may

Not be fun to truly see

The way it always looked to me,

Oh how good we feel

Pretending all these things aren't real,

And changing truths to match our own.

What you think no one will know

Is on display.

Hiding youself does not pay.
