"RED"

Thu, 05/05/2016 - 21:40 -- rjdumas

I was five when my innocence was taken before my eyes.

Red the color of love as I seen her eye swollen but she never walked away.

Red the color of roses to make mommy stay

Red the color of blood as its dripped from her mouth matching her pretty red blouse.

Red the color lipstick she wore to cover the hurt.

Red the color of his shoe as he kicked mommy in the face.

Red the color of lights on the ambulance as they take mommy away.

Red the color of the box mommy took a nap in.

Mommy been sleep for a long time.

I miss her red lipstick on my cheek as she tucks me away.

Mommy is in a better place watching over me. every day I hear her laugh and see her smile.

I wish I could hug mommy just for a while.

His words whispered love but his actions screamed hate.

Daddy Why did you do that to mommy?

Now I'm all alone with no place to call home

I don't understand why was daddy a mean man?

I love you mommy please wake up.

I'm bringing you red roses today I know they're your favorite
