The Real Thing

With a heart of gold

You'd think I'd be able to buy a king

What happened to a world where lose was a real thing?

I should never shed tears because my man wasn't faithful

I want him to wake up in the morning and feel grateful

to have Me

Not accomplished because the night before

you had Me

And now feeling anxious to get rid of me

What happened to a world where a kiss is all you need?

When asked how much I love you

I shouldn't have to spread my legs

But my arms to say "this much"

I want someone who can comfort me with a simple touch

And when I smile that that's enough to keep him happy

Why do we make it so hard to be happy?

The games we play for entertainment

Forgetting that someone will always be upset

For losing at the end of it

Where would we be if we actually

Came at each other sincerely?

I want to live in a world where love is the real thing.
