Real Talk 101

As I look at the world around me and observe the many injustices that take place in our inner city communities, I often wonder if our children will ever be given the opportunity to build, blossom, and grow.
I often wonder if my teenage nephews will be allowed to live a normal constructive life or if their lives will be senselessly stolen by the same incompetent and blood thirsty law enforcement official who viciously stole the life of an innocent 12 year old child in 1.7 seconds, Tamir Rice.
I often wonder how we as a people can clearly see the injustices taking place in our inner city communities yet attempt to justify these injustices and/or blame the murder of that innocent child on that childs actions, in actions, and/or childish behavior.
I mean I am fully aware that in the eyes of most law enforcement officials our inner city children are considered to be nothing more than enemies of the state, (thugs, gangster's, hoodlums, etc, etc). However what I don't understand nor will ever be able to comprehend is who and what gives "them" the right to condemn and/or murder an innocent child simply because that child was playing with a pellet gun in a designated area, more notably a playground.
It seems as though in the current society that we live in it's perfectly normal for law enforcement officials to provoke, mistreat, harass, abuse and/or murder anyone in an urban environment who they deem problematic. And I am aware that the job description and duty of a law enforcement official is very difficult, dangerous, and stressful to say the least. However it still does not nor will ever justify and/or excuse their reckless misbehavior toward our inner city youth, toward our community.
It doesn't give them or anyone else the right to blatantly Harass, beat, and/or murder anyone whom they feel is not in compliance with the law, by laws etc, etc, etc. And I am not saying that violators of the law should not be arrested and/or prosecuted for their crimes because without laws there will be anarchy, however what I am implying is that if an individual is not violating any law and is simply minding his or her own business then no-one has the right and/or is justified in questioning, provoking, harassing, and/or viciously murdering that person, PERIOD!.
What I am stating is that the officer's who viciously murdered Tamir Rice, Eric Garner, etc, etc, etc. were in no-way, shape or form justified in doing so and if one truly believes that they were justified, right, and should not be held accountable for their lack of common sense and barbaric behavior, then may God have mercy on us all for when you justify a murderers actions, you devalue us as though we are nothing more than savage animals.
When one can boldly defend the actions of a heartless, incompetent, gung ho law enforcement official who has no respect for human life, then that one clearly needs to experience the inner city, police brutality and all of the other injustices that come along with being a citizen of our inner city communities.
maybe then and only then will they truly see, know, and understand our concerns, fears and condition, and why we as an inner city people do not trust like and/or respect the police.   REAL TALK! Written and conceived by Billie Gomez
