The Real Me

I tell the jokes that no one wants to hear,

I’m the loner in a crowd.

My mind is sharp but my words are dull

For you can never hear a sound.

On paper I am beautiful

But in reality my face’s a mess.

And no matter how hard I try,

I’ll never be considered fresh.

Try and try but continue to fail

At everything I do.

And the love I crave the most in life

Will never become true.

I put on a front,

A false persona to keep everyone off my back.

But in reality, I’m aching,

Ready for an eternal nap.
