The Rain, With No Umbrella

I'm waiting for the storm to pass
It's pelting me with rain
While once I had been built to last
I'm broken up in pain
My little red umbrella swept away
I fear, forever lost
Gone my shield to keep me gay
but at what price, does happiness cost?
My heart is torn in pieces
caught in a vicious stampede
Those who formerly dwelt in peaces
Ignoring my every need
This rushing river tugs urgent
Pulling at my legs
I'm caught inside its current
swirling in its dregs
I beg thee please come help me
pull me to the shore
wrap your arms around me
and love me forevermore
