Rain Drop

A raindrop on a car window

A lightbulb flickering across the room

A shuffle to reach the cold side of a pillow

And a tear falling from the eyes of a happy groom

The way he smiles in my direction

The sun warming my back

The pain in the heart from rejection

And the burden of a too-big backpack

All of the twinkling stars in the sky

All of the wonderous fish in the sea

All of the warm days of July

And all of the swirling feelings inside me

These simple parts of daily existence

They give me inspiration, they allow me persistence
