Rain

Dreary clouds spread across the sky
The weather reminds you of a recent goodbye
Rain is streaming down the window panes
Your face is covered in tear stains

Last nights events come flooding back
You feel as though your heart has cracked
The threat of tears has returned
The words she spoke last night burned

Grief is your best friend today
Because you feel the opposite of okay
But you know eventually you will mend
Time will bring your pain to an end

Swing your feet to the cold floor
You take a glance at the closed bedroom door
Taking a breath you rise
Out the door you go, drying your eyes

The rain continues to flood the city
You decide to take one day of pity
Movies and ice cream sound perfect
Tomorrow maybe you will feel less like a wreck
