A race of distance

Hebrews 12:1

12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,

let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,

and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Distance

Well how far have we come and where did we come from?

We are not even half way ... and we feel past the end

Is that what it feels like ... to be declared a winner

without having finished ... the race to the end?

This sickness now engulfs ... many a runner

Many who started ... with confidence the race

The hurdles are flat on the ground ... where we kicked them

As all of us have slowed now ... to a walking pace

We hold up a banner ... almost like a the barricade

No one now can pass us up ... as our imagination leads the race

It won’t be long now ... because we can’t go backwards

even when selling out purpose ... being formless in any case.
