Pulseless

I must retrace my steps

To find how I started,

To learn how to pay respects,

To the love that has departed.

I must retrace my steps

To find my presence in silence.

Within something so complex,

In the night without your guidance.

I must retrace my steps

To understand why you have fallen

And what it is I must accept

About the name I’m calling.

I must retrace my steps

Blankness in my mind,

There is no clarity that I may express

For I cannot turn back time.

I possibly have found my reason

For shoveling through my thoughts.

It might just be a demon,

that has made my acceptance distraught.

Or it must be the freedom that chases me

Through the night’s endless dreams

Wishing for my blindness to fade

So it’s what I wish to see.

I want to see
What is there for me
So there is some relief
For my blind belief.

But how may I, so mindlessly,
Look for the future already read
And the soul I hoped to find
Is the one already dead?
