The Prologue

The Lady Confused

On the second eve of October our maiden falls,

Losing her footing and losing it all,

She casts a grey shadow, massive and dark,

She soon understands that she broke her own heart,

She’s been trying her hardest to make amends,

And hopes to high heaven she’ll see him again,

She wonder if he thinks of her just the same,

She makes herself smile at the thought of his name,

If ever a man should have taken her heart,

It should’ve been this man, from the very start.

She’s realised she’s made quite a mistake,

For thinking it right, her own life to take.

She hopes to high heaven it not happen again,

She prays to Thy Father to take her to the end,

Though she’s never believed in such childish tales,

Everything falls, but not everything fails,

If guidance she needs and guidance she’ll receive,

The first move she must make with a broad winning streak,

But she can’t, oh she can’t!

What a fool she would seem!

All the ill things she’s said and the sick things she’s seen,

Whose side to play now?

Or to play any longer?

She’s starting to cry, a sign of weakness or stronger,

could she be getting there? Making her own way?

Will she ever truly stand at the gate?

Holding hands with the man that she’s loved for this year?

So many questions and a bit too much fear…

Our maiden, on the verge of collapse,

reaches her hand out and begs simply to grasp,

On her loves hand for the last time like this,

For through hell she has been and her lesson was this:

“If love thy should want and love thy wish to receive,

continue your time without worry or need,

you will make your way in good health and good time,

you must only take with you yourself and your mind

be true to your heart and your spirit as well,

and one day, I promise, you will get out of Hell.”
