In progress

1 Corinthians 3:10             New English Translation

10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master-builder I laid a foundation, but someone else builds on it. And each one must be careful how he builds.

My life an unfinished building erected of incomplete thoughts

On a foundation of gravel and sand hauled in from a place well-know

A deep pit called depravity supplied the substance by the load

To be paid for later in existence by the helpless and forlorn

The only way to change now is for all this to be wiped out

To pulverize and destroy every simple asset I could afford

Let someone else lay a new foundation and prepare a cornerstone

So that the fortress of my being will be a temple for “my” Lord

The deeper I dig down and all the walls keep caving in

I’ve come a long way counting grains in this dessert place

A place of my own making to be an inheritance for my kin

Dressed up with silk flowers as it’s worthwhile in my chase

Music in the background … a beautiful gentle melody

Words come to memory and form a repentant-deep desire

”How long has it been, since you talked to the Lord”? Now captures me

So now with the true family of God, He will deliver me from the mire
