Priority misguided

John 10:27

27 My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Priority misguided

How many tears now soften the earth?

Will today be different from tomorrow?

What is preplanned and who’ll be first

to pay the price in grief and sorrow?

How many hearts will be broken in truth?

Where will the pieces be scattered?

Who then will care as only a few can do

about the aches and pains of the battered?

How many cries will be raised to God?

Will the hopeless and helpless be heard?

When will He answer in compassion’s love

and soothe the balm of Gilead on all the hurt?

How will He move and who will He use

to answer the call to His Heart?

Could it be me or you to confront the abuse

to the weak, forgotten and discards?

How will we know when He calls our name?

Do we hear His soft whisper in its tender?

Or is the noise of the world our shame

as priorities are past the point to be mended?
