The Princely Beast

Once upon a time there was a prince,

Ever dwelling amidst despondency and rage,

Those breeding his soul for persecution, and since

It dug its way into his chest, against his heart war will wage.

He was born to seek the lovely.

Every chink and flaw abhore,

Yet his soul was bathed in acrimony,

A crown without a heart he faithfully bore.

A mirror taught and begot his steps,

His prison and pride-

His own reflection, persecution in effects.

Resident cracks unforeseen by delisorily pleased eyes.

Little does he know what it means to be handsome,

For falsified beauty sells the soul for ransom.

Who would be willing to pay the price?

Only a heart of true humility can free the one of ice.
