A Prayer from a Prisoner

I'm trapped behind walls

Cold but not alone

Hearing voices and calls

Prison now a home

Punishment for the innocence

I took away her light

Everything now makes sense

My body covered in white

Life till the end

Will it be ike this?

Time continues to shed

Freedom is truly missed

Time is running out

Begging for some peace

I'm shouting out loud

Can someone help me?

Praying to God consistently

Protect my kids please

When I become free

Bring them to me

Hoping they still remember

all the positive things

And if they do forgive

Bless them for eternity
