Ten years have passed
Ten years since the drums began.
Since the road under the wheels of my father and I
Started passing beneath us at once.

Taiko:
The Japanese word for Drum.
My word for Family.

The burden of Taiko is always foreseen
Yet the power of two relinquishes the weight.
They grow stronger together, facing the challenge
Of a legendary martial art.

The show features one man, yet is set up by both.
The crowd may never see the second man
Only the first is present to them
Yet the show only passes over the road with both.

The backstage man
His value to the show surpasses the performance
The audience knows not of his actions, even his existence
But anything less, to the roadie, is unacceptable.

I choose to be the second man of the show.
I follow my dad onto the stage, and retreat once my time comes.
Our travels have continued this way for years
Yet we never grow older.

The Power of Two:
Featuring my father and I.
Crowds cheer for us both, knowingly or not
At the end of every passing road.
