Ephesians 5:13          New English Translation

13 But all things being exposed by the light are made visible.

 

Pounding

 

The pathway of feeling bids us neglect our duty

The path of faith calls us not to forsake the same

The easiest way to fall by the wayside

Is to compromise on one and treat it like a game

 

Emotional Christians are weak under attack.  

Powerless and helpless when their feelings are at steak

Evil can touch each facet with falling intentions.

Constantly hammering away, never taking a break.

 

When he lets up the pounding, and they think they’re delivered

And then, through the same emotion, they praise the Lord.

As the evil one is smiling to wait for another moment

When he wants to destroy their witness for they’re an easy prey

 

By faith, my friend, the inner man remains untouched.

For there is a clear division between spirit and soul

The soul gathers and lays up things for the only self.

And the spirit moves for God’s Glory and His goal.
