From Posner's Point of View

Location

I had one goal and that was certain,

Oxford and Cambridge is where i sought success.

I had the brains i had the wit, all i needed was a little push.

Our teachers were jokes:

one shoveled the facts, the other fiddled when no one was watching,

I thought i might be headed for the bin,

but, It wasn't until mid-August that my angel flew in.

I had one goal and that was certain,

Oxford and Cambridge is where i sought success.

My angel Irwin would come to my aide

When my eyes met his, i thought twice,

Who is this man taking over the class?

Felix says "He's the best",

but, How can he help me on my quest?

I had one goal and that was certain,

Oxford and Cambridge is where i sought success.

After all the time I devoted to my work, it meant nil to him,

He would say, "Dull, dull, dull, abysmally dull, the dullest of the lot".

Crushing my spirits and smearing my attempts.

I began to question his logic, "How was this helping us?"

To this he replied, "Thinking out of the box is a must!"

I had one goal and that was certain,

Oxford and Cambridge is where i sought success.

After months of pushing my limits,

i began to see the silver lining,

All of Irwin's lessons had a point.

It wasn't about my intelligence or my charisma,

It was about my ability to escape my minds chiasma.

I had one goal and that was certain,

Oxford and Cambridge is where i sought success.

March rolled around and my letter was here,

My life's devotion held in my hands,

i couldn't calm my hysteria.

As i peeled open the envelope my  hands began to sweat,

I began to cry elated for my future was set.

I had one goal and that was certain,

Oxford and Cambridge is where is sought success.

Accepted into the university of my dreams,

and, It's all thanks to Irwin.

All the mind stretching had paid off.

And it's all thanks to my angel,

and, His willful gamble on one so angle.
