Ecclesiastes 7:16 New English Translation (NET Bible)

16 So do not be excessively righteous or excessively wise;

otherwise you might be disappointed.

Where am I going, standing straight and buckled up?

Every step I take seems to pull me backward

The race started long ago and has now turned trackless

As on the road, I don’t know down from upwards

I call for help in my loneliness and like the echo of my voice

I have a special purpose as I make this constant noise

I really enjoy being here feeling sorry for myself

As long as I get home for lunch and that is around twelve

I know what I am doing in my assigned state of confusion

I play every card in hand except the joker of my delusion

All who get to meet me will know that I am very special

Until they get to the bottom of this self-appointed relic
