A Ponder
What happened to the time
when people made it a point to say hi
and happiness didn't come from a buy
and children were seen playing outside
Life wasn’t about me me me
but rather a time of love and simplicity
When family and community truly mattered
and morals weren't wounded and tattered
A persons identity was found in a higher being
not in the image formed by likes on a screen
When people didn't riot for attention
but instead had a sense of respect and affection
But when I see a child's smiling face
I know there is hope for the human race
May we find again our sense of wonder
and let the golden rays of the glistening sun
shine brighter than the thunder
May we rejoice again and dance
like the sun kissed raindrops jumping from flower to flower
and may our generosity flow
like the endless crystal water from a majestic waterfall’s power
May we love like no other
and sing songs of joy like a canary

and finally again be extraordinary
