Pompeii

The kitchen floor
I lay
Balloons of laughter fill the air
And for a moment time pauses,

This moment
We stay
Forever with you seems fair
Constant happiness this causes,

For our love
Is Pompeii
Not destruction or despair
But the way our love crosses,

The only death
Pompeii brings today
Is to my sadness and dismay
For me to go on, this passes.

Perfect is this moment
Lying next to you my mind hesitates
For happiness has always been constrained
This moment of perfection surpasses.

Contentment and serenity
Pompeii brings regularly
For life no longer seems distant
But constant and near.
