Polaroid Love

Love is a polaroid picture.
At first it blinds you,
with a flash of brilliant light.
Spots float in your eyes,
and you stumble around
until you can make sense of it.
When you finally blink yourself awake
from your dizzying encounter,
you see something
that you just might like
as the picture becomes more clear,
you’ll put it on your buera
and look at it with pride,
Believing,
“It’ll always be mine…”

Love is a polaroid picture
that will sit in the box,
that you’re too hurt to open
yet too proud to thrown away.
It will age around the corners
no longer crisp and white.
The picture will be hidden away,
but you know in your heart
that it will still be there the next day.

Love is a polaroid picture
because they don’t make them like they used too.
They’re old fashion,
out of date,
and no one really wants to wait
for film to develop
nor have the patient
to let the real beauty to take shape.
