Poetry Is Weird

My mind is always racing

It never seems to settle

From one thought to the next

Always something random

But usually making sense

To me, but no one else

Hundreds maybe thousands

Even millions of ideas

Hiding inside my mind

Waiting for a random, perfect time

To be noticed and acknowledged

Is what my thoughts all want

Like right now

I’m writing about my thoughts

While thinking about my writing

That’s just wow

Sometimes my attention is short

But my thoughts are always long

For the most part

This might be the middle

Or maybe it’s the start

But I just came up with the title

Of this great work of art

It might be confusion to you

If it’s beautiful to me

And that’s all that matters

That and almost everything

About the title of this thing

It really is the truth

You see poetry

Is really weird cause

Of what it can become or do

Great poets like Emily Dickinson

Or Langston Hughes

Or Shakespeare and Poe

Even Henry Longfellow

And every other poet

They all lived years ago

But they still are remembered

And discussed and admired

mostly because of the inspiration to inspire

So try not to let whatever thoughts you think be ignored.
