Please Earth, Please Earth

“Please Earth, please Earth,”

We used to say,

“Give us cool water.

Refresh us on hot days.”

“Please Earth, please Earth,”

We used to whine,

“Give us nice things to eat,

And we won’t waste your time.”

“Please Earth, please Earth,”

We use to plead,

“Give us warm sunlight.

It’s something that we need.”

“Please people, please people,”

The Earth now whispers,

“Help me now…

Like I’ve helped your brothers and sisters… ”
