A Pleasant Evening

Heart beating fast,

Hand holding yours,

We looked at the fireflies in the meadow.

It was like the stars had come down to dance around us.

They twinkled and spun, and I watched it all in

the reflections in your eyes.

Later,

curled up on the couch,

head on your lap,

we fell asleep to the sound of the TV.
