Play to Win

Location

As I step on the field

and look up in the stands,

I see my fellow classmates

and family clapping their hands.

Pregame music has me

ready to start.

While only warming up,

I can feel the win in my heart.

The game has started,

I hear the whistle of the referee.

It is playoff time in October,

so when I run

I can see my breath.

Always an Indian,

it is written across my chest.

My team is my family,

we will play our best.

Win or lose,

I will always have pride,

but I can not take a loss.

I have a burning desire

to win inside.
