Pitch Black Light

Within the dark lives an absence of light
An all consuming Yin slowly seals its tendrils around a desperate yang.
The sun plunges into its slumberly setting
And the electrons lie still for a moment
it is pitch black nothingness,
it is pitch black everythingness
while the panic sets in
You worry;
You're surrounded;
there is no brightness to turn to;
there is no strength to grab onto.
You can't even see it nearby.
It is pitch black hopelessness.
Your breath exhales in a thought of defenong defeat
Then change morphs shapes on your field of view, your pupils
dilate to reach every corner of possible light available.
You learn to adapt to that darkness.
To seek the light within and the whole room widens
to become a place you are familiar with-
an adversary you've turned companion.
You gather that last bit of will
as you just entered that first bit of desolation
and begin to realize that seeing is achievable
in the dark
The comes a direction you thoughr was lost.

There is no map in the dark.
Loneliness crawls upon your shoulder,
depression scratches your back.
You blink, you blink, you blink,
but you see nothing.
You feel everything.
Hope eagerly scales the tunnel to your existence and rests its beacon upon your eyes.
The situations may change but years have marked us to adapt.

I promise you, you have the ability,
the drive to know that sometimes the dark
is not just an all encompassing yin-
its shadow doesn't just lurk
to pursuade your defeat
but accompanies a softer yang
just waiting to shine its light
when your eyes finally adjust.
Then, there becomes no darkness in the dark
because your eyes just welcome the light
you are confident is there.
