Pink Shoelaces

All though middle school I saw them

Pink Shoelaces

Tied, untied, retied

Always there when I look down

My pink shoelaces

In high school I didn't look down as much

But whenever I did there they were

Bright and pink, cute little sloppy bows smiling up at me

Tied, untied, retied

When I was in the play

I lost you

I sinched you in my corset, then you were gone.

But I found you again

My pink shoelaces

Bright against thier new black home

My pink shoelaces

Bright in the blackness of despair, a spotlight

My signature

My hope

My pink sholaces.
