Perched Upon His Shoulder

Perched Upon His Shoulder

Perched upon
his shoulder

She asks him to
hold her

A nod of agreement
with a look of
dismay

She sits facing
the future

but he is turned
another way

Only her ankle is
grasped

Before his feeling
elapsed

Trapped in this
position

She must abort
the mission

When she parachutes
down

She gets caught
on his crown

Against the
metal she stays
banging

But he doesn’t
mind her hanging
