Perception and ...

Hebrews 5:14 New English Translation (NET Bible)

14 But solid food is for the mature, whose perceptions are trained by practice to discern both good and evil.

Perception

Perception an unusual thing seldom understood by others

Here a word and there a thought ... helps us peek in that realm

Mostly then misunderstood ... left open to some guessing

When added to our personal feelings ... who is then at the helm?

We hang our hat in places ... where we’re seldom ready for

We jump into situations ... before we even learn to walk

Lessons then instructed ... are painful for sure

as we stumble and fall ... believing our own talk

We have power to be sons ... but that is not His authority

Confronting the ones in darkness ... is it not His to be done?

I know we are not helpless ... but if dead to ourselves

Then fear is mostly gone ... and love fulfills in the Son

Always the same issues ... seem to drive us day to day

We limit opportunity by the things we think we know

Lessons are hardly learned as we search in levels of faith

In part we think we understand self-developed anyhow

How can we grow ... when we think ourselves mature?

How can we expand ... if we search within our own limits?

Why do we carve in stone ... the things we “know” for sure?

How can we dream ... if we sleep just to forget this?

Where the flexibility ... when caught in one’s own web?

What is senility ... when all we do is forget?

What seems probability ... when you are all wet?

Is your search for sanity ... wasting your time in bed?
