Have you lived in this world?
Opened your eyes?
Promise us a peaceful planet,
that’s a promise you’ll break.
There may be peaceful moments,
but never a peaceful world.
Cross you heart,
Hope to die,
The world’s in your hands.
Let know if it is ever calm,
ever peaceful.
Between the ruckus of arguments,
cries of poverty,
footsteps of jobless people,
and guns and explosions,
there is little peace.
You ever bring peace to all,
I will stand and applaud.
Until then, stop yourself;
don’t make a promise you can’t keep.
