Pavane

Why taunt such things as sweet as Death?

When one could waltz right in?

Why flirt with the edge of infinity

When you can dive in, head first?

Why ignore its adoring whispers

When you know it will reply to yours?

Fear not, things as succulent as Death

When it will caress you with the wisps of clouds

Kiss you with dreams of slumber

And make you dizzy with thoughts of the world beyond

You will leave your worries of this hellish world behind

And be swept away to the universe’s night

Be entranced with the dance of Death

And swoon in its attentive eyes

Relish every moment in its eternal presence

And take delight in its whispered words for you

For it will promise to rest, and never leave, from the temple of your heart

And remain forever faithful to your unsettled mind

No longer will you have to scream silent cries

And weep with dry tears

Nor be plagued with buts, if onlys, and empty wishes

Or feel lonely in a crowded life

You will no longer have to hope and pray for salvation someday

For Death is at your beck and call, to sweep you away

Worry not of falling

For Death will be sure to come

It will wrap your tattered soul with its loving arms

And seal its promise with a kiss

It will bless you an enchanted everlife

And grant you an answer for every single wish

So cease living dead in the realm of life

Go live, and flourish in the kingdom of Death

Dance forever in its adoring light

And be happy in your every breath

Cease the living, when living alive is pain

Whisper a wish for Death, and it will come and take it all away
